Print on archival paper 18 × 24”. The third in a series of paintings inspired by early foggy mornings in Arnada Park. The surreal light creates an ambiance that changes the perspective from the familiar to the surreal. The abandoned shoes cast high among the bare tree branches conveys clues to a journey near its end.

I was inspired to create a tableau via reference photos that I had taken while out on early morning walks with my dogs. The paintings were created with artistic license to convey an alternate perspective of settings in our everyday lives.

I did not work from photos taken of the houseless, as I have no interest exploiting another person’s living situation.
